Take Me To The Temple

I looked around the empty room
An' all that I could see was gloom.
With my clothes in a heap and my blankets strewn
At the bottom of the bed where I sleep alone.
Just a Dylan poster at the head of my bead,
A few C 90s that I play on my cassette,
An a picture of the girl who I love the best on my dresser.

Though we were happy when we first met
On a working vacation, someplace so far away.
At the end on the season we decided to come back to our homeland.
I came to London, she went home to Ma.
Said she'd join me later but I'm not too sure.
I know she loves me, but I'm sure her love for her home's greater.

So take me to the temple that's where I wanna go,
Where the sun always shines and there ain't no snow,
An' everybody lives for evermore, contented.

So I'm stuck in the city tryin' to make myself a name.
She's living in the country cos she likes it that way.
She don' like sky scrapers, don' like the fast living.
I'd give my left leg and my lucky charms
If I could hold her here again right now in my arms,
But she's a long way off. I know I'm only dreaming.

So take me to the temple that's where I wanna go,
Where the sun always shines and there ain't no snow,
An' everybody lives for evermore, contented.
